Chiang Mai

People in Chiang Mai find a café, a cooking class or a dentist the same way: they open Google Maps on a phone and pick something a few streets away. Some search in Thai, some in English. We get your business into those results, build a site that answers what people want to know before they come, and keep both up to date. We work from Bangkok, over LINE, email and video calls.

Cafés · restaurants · massage shops

Get into the top three on Google Maps

Nimman and the old city fit a lot of cafés and noodle shops into a few lanes, so the map decides who gets the walk-in. Search "coffee" or "khao soi" nearby and Google shows three places first. We complete your profile, set up a steady way to collect reviews, and work to get you into those three.

Gyms · laundries · coworking

Be the pick for people staying months

Remote workers who settle in Chiang Mai for a few months need a gym, a laundry, a dentist and a desk, and they choose each one from English reviews. If your profile is Thai only or was never finished, we rebuild it with an English description, the right categories and correct hours. After that, answer each review in the language it was written in.

Guesthouses · homestays · small hotels

Take bookings direct

Guests who find you on Booking.com or Agoda often search your name before they pay, and long-stay guests often ask for a monthly rate. A site of your own with the rooms, the nightly price, the monthly price and a LINE button answers both, and the bookings it brings in pay no platform commission.

A site in one language

Make the site Thai and English

Your customers read Thai or English, and Google ranks each language on its own, so a one-language site misses one of those groups. We rebuild it on your domain with every page in both, each with its own title and web address, and redirect every old link to its new page.

A site nobody visits

Find out why Google skips your site

A site built years ago and left alone tends to collect the same faults: prices and menus inside images, every page titled "Home", no sitemap, one language. The audit goes through the whole site and lists each fix in order of what matters most, ready for your developer, or for us on a monthly plan.

Cool season · Yi Peng

Time your ads to the busy months

The cool season, with Yi Peng in November, brings the most visitors, and plenty of them book rooms and classes before they arrive. We run Meta and Google Ads for you, paid from your own ad account: up in the weeks before the season, down when smoke and haze keep some people away from February.

Where each Chiang Mai trade gets found

One street can hold a café, a cooking school and a dental clinic, and their customers search in different ways.

Cafés and restaurants

People choose a café by area and by what they want: "coffee Nimman", "khao soi near me", "vegan old city". Your Google profile needs the right category, the hours you really keep, photos of the food and the room, and the menu in Thai and English. Thai diners often check Wongnai as well, so keep that listing matching Google.

Guesthouses and stays

Visitors usually pick an area before a room: the old city for temples and walking, Nimman for cafés and coworking. Your site and map profile should say plainly which area you are in and how far it is to the nearest city gate and to the airport, with photos that match the rooms.

Classes and studios

Someone typing "Thai cooking class Chiang Mai" is comparing several schools at once, often days before the trip. They want to know what they will cook, how long it lasts, what it costs and whether there is a hotel pick-up. Give each class its own page with those answers, and do the same for a yoga course or a craft workshop, so monthly SEO has something to rank.

Dental and medical clinics

Thai families and foreigners who live here both search for dentists and doctors, the foreigners often in English. Keep the pages to the services you offer, who provides them and their qualifications, opening hours, directions and how to book an appointment. In Thailand, clinic advertising, websites included, is regulated by the Department of Health Service Support and may need approval, so the clinic confirms the rules before anything is published.

Craft and design shops

Umbrella makers in San Kamphaeng, woodcarvers in Hang Dong, and weavers and potters in the districts around the city sell to plenty of people who visit once and later want to order again. A shop site with photos, sizes, prices and shipping lets them buy from home, and a map profile with the workshop's opening hours brings in the ones still in town.

Coworking spaces, trekking and nature tours, coffee roasters and monthly rentals each get found in their own way. Bring yours to the first call and we will show you where your customers search and which service to start with.

How Chiang Mai searches

Chiang Mai is far less contested than Bangkok, with one characteristic of its own: a long-staying remote-working population that searches like a local but decides entirely on English-language reviews.

AirportOld CityNimmanNight BazaarWat KetDoi SuthepMae RimHang DongSan Kamphaeng
Rough positions, not to scale. The square is the old city moat and the winding line is the Ping River; the outer towns sit closer in than they really are.

Language

Thai and English in roughly equal measure, depending on the district. Nimman leans English; the old city and the outskirts stay mostly Thai.

Seasons

The cool, dry months from November to February are the busiest, and Yi Peng and Loy Krathong in November draw large crowds. From about February to April, smoke and haze from burning often settle over the north and some visitors stay away. The rains run from about May to October. SEO and map work take 60 to 90 days to show, so start by August to be ready for November.

What it takes

The ceiling is visibly lower than Bangkok. A properly finished profile with a steady flow of reviews reaches the top three in many categories without needing a review count in the hundreds.

How it works from Bangkok

01

A free 30-minute call

Book a call or send a LINE message. We open your site and your Google profile together, check where you appear on the Chiang Mai map, and say what we would do first.

02

Scope and price agreed first

Scope, price and timeline are agreed before any work begins. Packages have fixed prices, and a booking system or anything custom is quoted after the call.

03

We build, you check

Photos of your dishes, rooms or workshop taken on your own phone usually do the job, and we send a list of the shots the site needs. You see everything before it goes live, with two rounds of design changes included.

04

Live on your domain

The site goes live on your own domain and belongs to you once it is paid for. Local SEO clients get a map report every month, measured from 25 points around the business.

Questions from Chiang Mai businesses

You are in Bangkok. Can you really work on a Chiang Mai business?

Yes. The parts of a map ranking you can work on are your profile, your reviews and your site, and all three are done online. We talk over LINE, email and video calls, and Local SEO clients get a monthly map report measured from 25 points around their address in Chiang Mai.

Should my site and profile be in Thai or English?

In most of Chiang Mai, you want both. Nimman and the areas visitors stay in lean English, and the outskirts search mostly in Thai. The site gets a full page in each language. On the Google profile, write the description in both languages and answer each review in the language it was written in.

When should I start to be ready for the cool season?

Start by August if you can. SEO and map work take two to three months to show, so work started in August is paying off by November, when the cool season and Yi Peng bring visitors in. Work started in November pays off around February, just as the smoke season begins.

My business is out of town, in Mae Rim or Hang Dong. Does this still work?

Yes. Map results lean on where the person searching is, so a café in Hang Dong or a workshop in San Kamphaeng competes mostly with the places around it rather than with Nimman. Name your district on the site and the profile, and say how long the drive from the old city takes, because visitors plan their day around it.

How long until I show up on the map?

Sixty to ninety days for a measurable move. Chiang Mai is less crowded than Bangkok, so a finished profile with steady reviews can reach the top three in many categories, but a busy one such as cafés in Nimman can take longer.

My guesthouse is outside the moat. Can it show up for "old city" searches?

It rarely does, because distance counts. For a search like "guesthouse old city", Google favours places inside or right beside the moat. Say plainly where you are, for example how far it is to the nearest city gate, and go after the searches from people already near you. Leave "Old City" out of your Google business name unless it is part of your real name: Google can suspend a profile for that.

Where does your business show up in Chiang Mai?

Send us your business name and its area: Nimman, the old city, Hang Dong or anywhere around them. We check your map position free on the first call.
